REQUIREMENTS

Current and Valid SANC Registration as Registered Nurse.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

Infection Prevention & Control Qualification.

Commitment to initiate and implement prevention and control improvement programmes.

Excellent interpersonal-; communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Fully Computer Literate (MS Office).

Leadership qualities and mentoring skills.


KEY OUTPUTS

Comply with legislation and bylaws relating to the infection prevention- and control portfolio and waste management.

Membership of the antibiotic stewardship forum.

Review infection control practices in the hospital and simplify and streamline processes.

Assist in the compilation, implementation and compliance monitoring of IPC policies and work procedures.

Laboratory surveillance and identifying risks organisms.

Chair the Infection Control Committee meetings on a monthly basis.

Conduct and manage compliance of internal and external audits.

Investigation of (HAI) Healthcare Associated Infections.

Compile and implement disease outbreak interventions.

Reporting of notifiable diseases to relevant authorities.

Waste management operational functions.

Provide inhouse training needs in portfolio.
